What does Caliber Smokin Guns do?
This is our Caliber Smokin Guns review. It’s a pre workout that has been claimed to promote:
- Energy
- Focus
- Muscle Pumps
- Endurance
- Power Output
But how well will it work for you?
In this review, we look closer at this supplement to see how effective it really is.
This is what we’ve found:
What you need to know about the Caliber Smokin Guns ingredients:
It is mainly made up of proprietary blends – and that isn’t a good thing.
A proprietary blend is when a supplement manufacturer chooses to hide the dosages of the ingredients used in their product.
Instead they group the ingredients together under one, or several values.
This means you don’t know the exact dosages of the ingredients you’re getting or if they’ll be effective overall.
Aside from that though, apart from a hiccup here or there we quite like the ingredients used in Caliber Smokin Guns.
Here’s our full view on the profile, followed by our brief summary and recommendations.
Choline
This is a good ingredient in Caliber Smokin Guns. Choline doesn’t promote physical performance, but it can help in other ways.
It’s been seen in studies to help promote cognition and focus.
This can allow you to concentrate more in the gym, and be more productive in your workout.
As we’ve said, it won’t help your physical performance, but it’s a nice supporting ingredient in this pre workout.
L-Citrulline
This is one of the better amino acids in Caliber Smokin Guns – but we would love to know how much is being used.
L-Citrulline is an amino acid that has been linked to improving nitric oxide in your blood. This is vasodilator – it helps with the amount of blood that can flow to your muscles at a time.
This can help with both muscle pumps and nutrient flow in your system. It can also improve your overall endurance.
However, studies have shown that you need a lot of Citrulline for it to deliver on these benefits.
Ideally, you need between 6000 – 8000mg of Citrulline per serving for it to work.
You may not get a lot of benefits out this ingredient here – as we don’t know the dosage.
Beta-Alanine
This is another effective amino acid in Caliber Smokin Guns – but it does have its drawbacks.
Beta Alanine has been seen in some studies to help buffer the acid in your muscles which can help improve power output and endurance.
However, many users have reported side effects with using this supplement.
We go into detail about what these actually are in our side effects section later on. Keep reading to find out what problems have been associated with this nutrient.
Creatine
This is one of the better amino acids out there for boosting performance.
Creatine is a good choice in Caliber Smokin Guns, as it has been seen to help boost levels of ATP in your body.
ATP is what your muscles use for energy. The more of it that you have, the more support they have for power output and endurance.
It’s a good addition to this pre workout.
Beet Root
This is a good nutrient in Caliber Smokin Guns and made up of Betaine.
Betaine is a nutrient that has been seen in several studies to help promote performance.
It could help to improve plasma nitrate levels in your body, which has been linked to improving endurance and overall performance while training.
Betaine is good for performance and nutrient flow in your body.
Taurine
This amino acid is a nice addition to Caliber Smokin Guns – but it won’t help to improve performance.
So what does Taurine do?
It helps with circulation and absorption. By supplementing Taurine, you’ll be able to experience more nutrient flow in your body.
This will allow you to absorb more from this pre workout and allow it to activate faster in your system.
It’s a nice supporting ingredient here.
Coconut Water
This is a nutrient which can help get you ready for the workout ahead, and a solid choice in Caliber Smokin Guns.
Coconut Water is a nutrient that is filled with electrolytes. By drinking it, it can help restore whatever you may be deficient in and allow you to attack your session at full power.
With numerous vitmains, nutrients and minerals in it – Coconut Water is great for helping you go that extra mile.
Rhodiola Root
This isn’t a physical performance enhancer, but it can help in other ways in Caliber Smokin Guns.
Rhodiola Rosea is a Scandinavian root which has been seen to help with both mood and motivation when supplemeted.
There are studies that have shown that it can help reduce depression and fatigue, while upping focus and feelings of well-being.
It’s a great addition to this pre workout, and will help keep you motivated and pushing hard.
L-Phenylalanine
This is another amino acid in Caliber Smokin Guns – but it’s not as effective as some of the other options we’ve covered.
Phenylalanine is a nutrient that has been thought to help improve your overall levels of the feel good hormones serotonin and dopamine.
However, although it has been seen to work – it doesn’t work with oral supplementation.
Studies have shown that this nutrient is broken down too quickly by the human body, well before it can activate.
This makes it a poor choice in Caliber Smokin Guns, and not an effective option.
L-Carnitine
This is a slightly better option – but as we don’t know the dosage, we can’t say for sure how well it work here.
L-Carnitine is an amino acid in Caliber Smokin Guns which has been seen to help promote both energy and metabolism.
This has its uses in a pre workout – but you need a lot for it to work.
And as this is a proprietary blend – it’s unclear whether this will actually work.
Studies show you need between 500 – 2500mg per serving to make this nutrient do the job. But whether it will actually deliver here is unknown.
Green Coffee
This is more of a fat burner than it is an actual performance booster.
The Green Coffee Bean in Caliber Smokin Guns is packed with chlorogenic acid – a nutrient linked to closely to fat loss.
It works by cutting down the glucose in your liver. This is what your body uses for energy.
With less of it in your system, your body has to look for other resources – namely your fat cells.
It helps you to burn more fat with no extra effort.
This makes it great for a fat burner – but it won’t do much for your performance as a pre workout.
Chocolate Bean
This is a nutrient you’ll find in a range of supplements in the industry – mainly because it contains Theobromine.
So what does Theobromine do in Caliber Smokin Guns?
Theobromine is an amino acid that has been linked to improving blood flow and circulation.
It can help with absorption and nutrient flow which may allow this pre workout to activate faster.
However, when it comes to performance, or anything that specifically applies to pre workouts – it has no real benefit.
It’s just a supporting ingredient.
L-Theanine
This an amino acid that has been seen to help more with focus rather than physical performance in Caliber Smokin Guns.
It has been seen in numerous studies to help improve feel-good hormones in your body like dopamine and serotonin. This helps to make you feel more calm and relaxed during your session.
It’s good for improving concentration during your session which allows you to keep focused for longer.
Velvet Bean
Also known as Mucuna Pruriens, this is another nutrient that works in a similar way to L-Theanine.
This is another ingredient that can help to increase serotonin and dopamine levels.
It can help to lower your levels of the stress hormone cortisol – which can help you to focus and get more done in the gym.
Velvet Bean is a nice addition to this pre workout.
Phosphatidylserine
One of the better cognitive enhancers in this pre workout.
Phosphatidylserine has been seen in numerous studies to help improve four main forms of cognition. It can help with memory, mood, focus and even help prevent cognitive decline.
It’s a great addition in this pre workout, despite not helping with physical performance.
Nutrient Profile Overview:
On the whole, Caliber Smokin Guns doesn’t have the best ingredients that we’ve seen in a pre workout.
One of the main problems is the sheer amount of proprietary blends here. You don’t know how much of each ingredient you’re getting or how effective they’ll be overall.
Not only that, the Beta Alanine may also cause side effects.
Aside from that, there are some good ingredients in this pre workout. We like the Citrulline, Creatine, Beet Root, Coconut, Rhodiola, Carnitine, Green Coffee, L-Theanine and Phosphatidylserine.
It’s not about what this product needs – it’s about what it doesn’t need.
Removing some of the weaker ingredients from Caliber Smokin Guns would help, while beefing up the more important ones.
It would also help for Caliber to be more honest about how much of each ingredient is being used.
We like that some great ingredients have been used – but if there are only trace amounts – then what is the point?
It just needs a reshuffle. Aside from that, it’s a pre workout with some serious promise.
Caliber Smokin Guns Side Effects – Are there any?
Your main concern here is the Beta Alanine.
Although it may help to promote performance, it may cause paresthesia.
Paresthesia is a condition which causes an itching in both the hands and face. It’s not harmful, but it may ruin your session as it’s incredibly distracting.
We speak from experience.

Can I take two servings of Caliber Smokin Guns at once?
It’s up to you – and well you think can handle the itching from Beta Alanine.
By doubling up on this pre workout, you’re increasing your chances of paresthesia from the Beta Alanine.
Try using it as recommended first, and see if you notice any issues – if there are no problems, slowly increase the dosage.
Caliber Smokin Guns Review Summary – Is it effective?
Overall, this isn’t the most effective pre workout we’ve seen on the market.
From our Caliber Smokin Guns review, this is what you need to know:
- Proprietary Blends – You don’t know how much of each ingredient you’re getting or how effective it will be overall.
- Potential Side Effects – Beta Alanine may cause paresthesia.
- Can’t be double served – Taking two servings here may cause side effects.
Muxcle’s Verdict:
