Intro: What does this supplement do?

This is our review of MANPOWER by Axe & Sledge. This is a testosterone booster which has claims to promote:

  • Energy
  • Muscle Mass
  • Libido
  • Testosterone

Bottle Design for Axe and Sledge MANPOWER

But how well will it work for you?

In this review, we look closer at this supplement to see how effective it really is.

This is what we’ve found…

Ingredients: What’s in MANPOWER?

An interesting mix of libido enhancers with a few testosterone boosters.

This isn’t the best set up testosterone booster that we have come across, but it does have a lot in here that could help libido.

There are several ingredients that we think could help improve this product.

Below, we look closer at this supplement from Axe & Sledge along with our summary and suggestions on how it could be made better.

This is what you need to know:

Ingredients
As you can see, there’s a real mix of ingredients in here.

Tribulus Terrestris

This is not a great start to MANPOWER from Axe & Sledge. We don’t think Tribulus Terrestris is an effective nutrient for promoting testosterone levels.

Despite claims by supplement companies, there are numerous studies that show Tribulus Terrestris isn’t that effective when it comes to raising testosterone.

The only time it appears to make a difference to the male hormone is in rat studies.

That said, although it isn’t a testosterone booster, there is some evdience that it can help with libido. Aside from that though, you’re not going to notice much benefit.

Mucuna Pruriens

This is a much better option in this supplement from Axe and Sledge. Mucuna Pruriens, also known as Velvet Bean are great for helping with testosterone.

How?

Mucuna Pruriens can help to promote your body’s levels of dopamine and serotonin and lower your cortisol.

Cortisol is your body’s stress hormone. The higher your levels of cortisol, the lower your testosterone. This all comes to down to a hormonal balancing act in your body known as homeostasis. Essentially, the more you have of one hormone the less you have of another, the more cortisol the less testosterone.

It’s a great addition here.

Fenugreek

This is another good option, and works in a similar to Mucuna Pruriens in MANPOWER.

However, instead of lowering your cortisol levels, Fenugreek helps to manage and regulate your blood sugar and insulin levels.

Again, homeostasis lowers your testosterone levels when your insulin is high.

By using something like Fenugreek to help keep your insulin under control, your testosterone has more support to rise.

Not only that, numerous studies also show that Fenugreek can help improve your libido.

Safed Musli

This is a herb which has many claims about it, but not a lot of proof.

So, will it boost testosterone in Axe & Sledge MANPOWER?

We don’t think so. The only available studies show that it can help raise libido in rats. You’re unlikely to see similar results in humans, and even if they were the same, it still shows no evidence for raising testosterone.

It’s not the best option in this supplement.

Longjack Extact

Also known as Eurycoma Longifolia and Tongkat Ali, this is another ingredient with a lot of claims but not a lot of evidence.

There is a lot of marketing that claims Longjack can help promote testosterone. However, the only studies out there are similar to Safed Musli, in that they only show that it can help with libido and erection in rats.

You’re unlikely to get much benefit here when it comes to testosterone.

Maca

This isn’t a great option either, although we would say that it is better than Longjack in MANPOWER.

Maca is a herb which isn’t a testosterone booster – it’s more of a fertility aid.

By this we mean, there’s some evidence which shows it can help raise libido in humans and can even promote erections and sperm quality.

This is great for anyone trying to conceive but not the main goal of someone who is bodybuilding and looking to boost their testosterone.

It’s not the best option in this supplement, but we can see its benefits here.

DIM

This is a nutrient which needs a lot more research, but at the moment it is looking promising.

DIM is a component that is commonly found in vegetables like broccoli. It’s a nutrient which has claims to work as an aromatase inhibitor (estrogen suppressant).

By helping to reduce your levels of the female hormone, it can give your testosterone levels more of an impact on your training and results.

This would be great. Research is still ongoing, and is looking promising. However, the dosages may not be worked out yet.

Over the next few years, we’re sure we’ll see more promising news on DIM. It might not work in this supplement but could in the future.

5a-Hydroxy Laxogenin

This is a plant steroid. Don’t let the word ‘steroid’ throw you here, it’s not going to have much of an effect.

Numerous supplement companies are currently using insect and plant steroids in their products to convince people that it will boost their testosterone. This is not the case. There’s no evidence which shows it to be effective in humans.

Maybe that could change in the future with how it is used, but how it is used currently is not appearing to work in studies.

Black Pepper

This isn’t a testosterone booster, but it could help you in other ways.

Black Pepper is great for improving absorption. This means it can help you to get more out of the ingredients in this supplement and allow it to get into your system faster and more effectively.

It’s a good support in this supplement.

Three Bottles of MANPOWER

Nutrient Profile Overview:

MANPOWER doesn’t have the best ingredients that we have come across in a testosterone, but it does have its advantages.

It seems to help more with libido than it does with testosterone. The Longjack, Maca and Safed Musli are strong examples of this.

When it comes to testosterone, the main benefits here seem to come from the Fenugreek and Mucuna Pruriens.

For this to have a bigger impact on testosterone, more could be added here.

What ingredients would help this supplement from Axe & Sledge?

The main things that would help here are Zinc, Magnesium, D-Aspartic Acid, and Vitamin D3.

For example, both Zinc and D-Apartic Acid can both be used by your brain for chemical reactions which helps to promote the Luteinizing Hormone (LH).

LH is your body’s precursor to both growth hormone and testosterone, the more of it you have in your system, the more support your testosterone levels have to grow.

Whereas Magnesium is great for free testosterone. It works well because it reacts with the Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG) in your system. SHBG is a protein in your blood stream which binds to your testosterone and strips it of its anabolic potency. This makes your testosterone useless.

Magnesium helps by inhibiting your SHBG and reducing its ability to do this, which allows more testosterone to flow freely through your system.

Finally, Vitamin D3 would help as it is technically a hormone. Studies show that supplementing Vitamin D3 long term can help to promote your overall levels of testosterone. This is because most people don’t get enough of it throughout the day as you naturally absorb it through your skin via ulta-violet light from the sun’s rays.

Adding these ingredients to this supplement woud definitely help it to be more effective.

Safety Check: Are there any side effects in MANPOWER?

Not that we can see, all the ingredients are completely natural.

You shouldn’t have any problems from supplementing this testosterone booster.

That said, we can’t speak for everyone. If you have any concerns about taking this supplement, you should speak to your doctor before using it.

Directions: How do you take Axe & Sledge MANPOWER?

Three capsules, once a day.

Is this a good set up?

It could be better, with one serving a day your body will only get a few hours of benefit.

This means you won’t be getting benefits from this supplement day long. Ideally, what you want is a testosterone booster that has 3 – 4 servings a day. This gives your body a constant supply of the nutrients you need to keep your testosterone levels on the rise for as long as possible.

We think it would be better if it was set up to work like this.

Is this the best Testosterone Booster?

No. There’s better:

We review an endless amount of testosterone boosters every month searching for the most effective one on the market.

We look for supplements that deliver:

  • Effective Testosterone Production
  • 100% Natural Ingredients
  • Increases in Overall Free Testosterone
  • Noticeable Strength Boosts
  • More Energy
  • Enhanced Mood and Sex Drive
  • Faster Recovery and Muscle Growth
  • Value for Money
  • Results

Axe & Sledge MANPOWER Review Summary: Is it effective?

As you can see, this supplement appears to have ingredients that are more suited to improving libido than actual testosterone.

It does have some ingredients that do help, but certain adjustments could help make it better.

From our review of MANPOWER, this is what you need to know:

  1. Some Ineffective Ingredients – Nutrients like Tribulus do not have studies which show it to improve testosterone.
  2. Missing Core Nutrients – More study backed nutrients could be added to this supplement.
  3. Servings Could Be Increased – One serving a day may not be enough for maximum testosterone boosting.

Muxcle’s Verdict:

As you can see, this isn’t the best testosterone booster that we would suggest adding to your stack.
