What does Zhou Nutrition DRIFTOFF do?
This is our Zhou Nutrition DRIFTOFF review, a sleeping pill with claims to promote:
- Faster Sleep Onset
- Better Sleep
- Improved Mood
But how well will it work for you?
In this review, we look closer at this supplement to see how effective it really is.
This is what we’ve found…
What you need to know about the Zhou Nutrition DRIFTOFF ingredients:
There are plenty of good ingredients in here to help with your mood and improve anxiety.
However, there’s only a couple that directly promotes sleep. Some improvements could be made, but we still like what we see overall.
Below, we’ve written up the main ingredients in Zhou Nutrition DRIFTOFF follwed by our summary and suggestions on how to improve it.
This is what you need to know:
This is a good start to Zhou Nutrition DRIFTOFF, but techincally doesn’t promote sleep.
So, what does it do?
Don’t get us wrong, Valerian will help you. Studies show that Valerian works well for reducing anxiety.
This is great for getting you in the mindset you need to get into a deep sleep.
When it comes to actually hastening the onset of sleep though, it doesn’t have any direct effect.
In short, there’s no sufficient evidence of it promoting sedation, it can however, help reduce anxiety – which for some people is half the battle.
This is a naturally occuring hormone in the brain which can help improve relaxation.
Again, this is good for that mindset that gets you to sleep. However, will it work in Zhou Nutrition DRIFTOFF?
Supplementing it directly can have problems. Some reports show that taking GABA directly may have no effect.
This is because your body has trouble helping it to cross the blood-brain barrier. If it can’t cross that barrier, you’re not going to get the benefit from it.
Ingredients like L-Theanine are much better for results as it helps promote dopamine, serotonin and GABA – it’s a shame it’s not in here.
This is a much better ingredient, and arguably the best choice in Zhou Nutrition DRIFTOFF.
Why? Because it’s an amino acid that your body converts into Serotonin.
Serotonin is one of your body’s main ‘feel-good’ hormones, which can help to elevate your mood. Not only that, your body also converts Serotonin into Melatonin.
Melatonin is your body’s sleep hormone. The more of this you have in your system, the easier it is for you to fall asleep.
It’s a great choice for helping your body to produce more natural melatonin and we’re glad to see it in here.
Chamomile & Passion Flower Extract
We’ve grouped these two ingredients together in our review, as they largely do the same thing in Zhou Nutrition DRIFTOFF: supply Apigenin.
Apignen is the component in these extracts that give the reputation that these flowers promote sleep.
But how well does it actually work?
You may be surprised to learn that Apigenin only promotes sleep in very high values. Studies show you need between 30 – 100mg of Apigenin per KG of your bodyweight for it to work. That’s a hell of a lot, and shows there’s definitely not enough in Zhou Nutrition DRIFTOFF.
However, it isn’t all bad. The amounts in this supplement may be small – but it can still help to reduce anxiety.
And as we’ve already covered when discussing Valerian, this can help get you in the right mindset to fall asleep.
Also known as Melissa Officinalis, this is another nutrient in Zhou Nutrition DRIFTOFF that is commonly used in tea.
Does it work?
Not for sleep – but it can help in numerous other ways.
There’s a lot of studies which show that Lemon Balm can help reduce anxiety and promote overall feelings of calmess.
It’s thought to also help cognition, but there’s no evidence to confirm this.
Reducing anxiety and making you calm is good though. Again, this is great for putting you more at ease, which can help you fall into a deep, refreshing sleep.
There’s a not a lot of studies out there on hops and sleep, but we have to say it looks promising.
So, does it work in Zhou Nutrition DRIFTOFF?
We can’t say for sure. There aren’t many studies when it comes to supplementing Hops for sleep.
However, when researchers looked at subjects who drank non-alcoholic beer which was rich in hops, they did see an increase in speed of sedation and a promotion in overall sleep.
However, this isn’t exactly the same as supplementing the hops directly as there were other ingredients in that beer.
That said, it looks promising but we don’t think there’s enough out there to fully confirm this.
The final ingredient in Zhou Nutrition DRIFTOFF is Melatonin.
We like Melatonin, it’s the sleep regulating hormone your body relies on to make you fall asleep at night.
However, it’s unclear where Zhou have got their Melatonin from. This isn’t too much of an issue, but the problem is that most manufacturers use synthetic melatonin. That’s melatonin which has been made in a lab – it’s not as effective as the real thing.
A good alternative to the Melatonin in here would be Tart Cherries as they contain a nice supply of natural melatonin which would give additional benefit. It would’ve been a nice touch.
Nutrient Profile Overview:
On the whole, Zhou Nutrition DRIFTOFF doesn’t have the best ingredients that we have seen in a sleeping pill.
Don’t get us wrong, we like the Tryptophan and the Melatonin – but we feel that the rest of the ingredients don’t directly promote sleep.
Also the Melatonin in here might be synthetic, which isn’t as effective as it could be.
How could Zhou Nutrition DRIFTOFF be improved?
Adding in a few more ingredients would definitely help. Magnesium and Tart Cherries would be a good place to start.
Tart Cherries, as we have mentioned are a good source of natural melatonin. It’s pure and effective, with plenty of studies to support it.
Magnesium is a good support too. It’s a mineral that helps with numerous functions in your body, but it can also help you sleep too.
Studies show that it can help as a muscle relaxant. This is good for when you’re already asleep. Magnesium can reduce muscle twitches and jerks which can help prevent you from disturbing yourself during your sleep and give you a more peaceful night.
It’s a shame these weren’t added into this supplement.
Zhou Nutrition DRIFTOFF Side Effects – Are there any?
Not that we can see. Everything is at a safe dosage, and we haven’t come across any side effect reports.
You shouldn’t have any problems from supplementing this product – other than it not being your most effective option.
However, we can’t speak for everyone. If you’re concerned, we suggest you speak to your doctor before using it.

Zhou Nutrition DRIFTOFF Review Summary – Is it effective?
Overall, this sleeping pill has some good ingredients, but it isn’t the best we’ve come across on the market.
From our Zhou Nutrition DRIFTOFF review, this is what you need to know:
- Under Dosed in Places – The Chamomile and Passion Flower may be under dosed.
- Melatonin Source Unconfirmed – The Melatonin in this supplement may be synthetic.
- Missing Core Nutrients – More study backed sleep aids could be added to this supplement.
As you can see, this isn’t the best option that we would recommend adding to your stack.
