  • Recovery

But how well will it work for you?

In this review, we look closer at this supplement to see how effective it really is.

This is what we’ve found…

What you need to know about the BSN Amino X Post Workout ingredients:

They’re split into 2 proprietary blends – which isn’t a good sign.

Proprietary blends are common in the supplements industry, but they’re not good for the consumer.

What is it?

It’s when a manufacturer decides to hide the individual dosages of the ingredients in their product. Instead, they group them all together under larger values. This means you don’t know how much of each ingredient you’re getting or how effective it really is.

It still has some good ingredients though.

Below, we have our write up of the main ingredients in this supplement, along with our summary and suggestions on how to improve it.

This is what you need to know:bsn-amino-x-post-workout-side-effects

BCAA Blend (L-Leucine, L-Valine and L-Isoleucine)

This is a good start to BSN Amino X Post Workout.

BCAAs are Branch Chain Amino Acids. These are what your body can use to promote your overall protein synthesis.

This determines how effectively your body uses protein to promote muscle growth. It’s the L-Leucine that helps the most here, studies show this is what’s mainly responsible for helping protein synthesis.

Whereas L-Isoleucine helps with glucose uptake to your cells which can help promote how fast this process takes places.

Finally L-Valine is still being researched. It’s exact benefits can’t be pinpointed by researchers yet, but they believe it is a serious part of this process.

All in all the BCAA blend in here is a good thing.

L-Alanine

This is another good supporting choice in BSN Amino X Post Workout.

L-Alainine can help buffer the acid in your muscles. This usually helps in pre workouts as it promotes endurance for the session ahead.

However, as a post workout, it can help restore what you’ve lost and help your muscles recover faster. It’s a nice addition to this supplement.

Taurine

This is a nice supporting amino acid in BSN Amino X Post Workout.

There is plenty of evidence that shows that Taurine can help with blood and nutrient flow. This is good for helping improve blood flow to your muscles after a workout.

It can help put more nutrients back into your body after a workout which can help to improve your overall recovery speed.

L-Citrulline

A much better choice in BSN Amino X Post Workout.

L-Citrulline is an amino acid that converts into L-Arginine after being absorbed. This L-Arginine helps promote nitric oxide in your body which dramatically helps blood flow.

In doing so, more blood and nutrients can reach your muscles at a faster rate which dramatically helps with recovery.

The only thing we would say though, is that studies suggest you need a lot of it to work. As this is a proprietary blend, it’s unclear whether there is enough here to work with.

Citric Acid / Malic Acid / Sodium Bicarbonate

These are all combinations of acids and salts that all help with absorption.

They ensure that you get as much out of BSN Amino X Post Workout as possible.

This may help the product as a whole to act at a faster rate.

Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3)

This is an essential Vitamin that is so potent it is technically a hormone.

It’s good to see in BSN Amino X Post Workout. Most people are deficient in D3 as we absorb it directly from the sun. With most people spending the majority of their time indoors, they’re unlikely to get enough of it.

It can help promote joint health, testosterone, muscle mass, and numerous other factors in your body.

Supplementing it is a good idea to bring back more support to your body after a hard workout.bsn-amino-x-post-workout-results

Nutrient Profile Overview:

On the whole, BSN Amino X Post Workout doesn’t have the best ingredients that we have seen in a post workout supplement.

We think there are more potent recovery aids that could be added to this supplement. The majority seem to offer mild benefits rather than making big changes – for example there’s nothing to help electrolytes here.

Another thing we don’t like are the proprietary blends. You don’t know how much of each ingredient you’re getting, so how can you know how effective it really is?

It’s not your best option.

That said, we do like the BCAAs, and a few of the other ingredients in here. But there needs to be more effective additions.

What could be added to BSN Amino X Post Workout?

Three things that we believe would help is Creatine, Pomegranate and Coconut Water.

Creatine would be a great addition. It’s an effective choice for elevating ATP levels. ATP is a resource inside you that your muscles use for energy.

You lose a lot ATP after working out, and supplementing Creatine is a good way to restore it. Creatine can also help with protein synthesis like BCAAs, but also with muscle growth and energy levels. It’s a great ingredient.

Whereas Coconut Water is full of electrolytes. Coconut Water contains a great profile of sodium, magnesium, potassium, and calcium – all of which can help with sending signals to your muscles, improving recovery and energy.

You lose a lot of electrolytes through your sweat when you workout. By supplementing it, you can help to restore what you’ve lost and start the recovery process much faster.

Studies even show that Coconut Water has the same benefits as a sports drink – except it doesn’t have the nasty artificial additives. It’s an effective choice.

Pomegranate can also help as it is an anti-inflammatory. This can help to reduce damage and oxidative stress on your muscles, while promoting nutrient and blood flow to them to help a faster recovery.

It’s a shame that ingredients like this weren’t added to this supplement.

BSN Amino X Post Workout Side Effects – Are there any?

You shouldn’t run into any problems, all the ingredients in here are natural and do not have ties to causing side effects that we’re aware of.

However, if you are concerned you should spea to your doctor before using it. We can’t say how safe it will be for everyone, condering potential allergies you may have.

Is this the Post Workout Supplement?

No. There’s better:

We review an endless amount of post workouts on the market every month, trying to find for the best option out there for you.
