Ingredients: What’s in fnctional’s Think()?
Before we cover the ingredients, you should know that the majority of this supplement is a proprietary blend.
A proprietary blend is when a supplement manufacturer chooses to hide the individual dosages of their ingredients. Instead, their piled together under one larger dosage.
This means you don’t know how much of each ingredient you’re getting or how effective it really is.
That said, there are still some good nutrients in here, but improvements could be made.
Below, we look closer at Think()’s ingredients along with our summary and suggestions on how to improve it.
This is what you need to know:
This is a great way to start to this nootropic. Choline is a good nutrient for improving cognition.
So how does it help in Think()?
Choline helps because your brain can use it to strengthen the learning neurotransmitters. This is great for improving your focus, attention span, memory and concentration throughout the day.
It’s a very positive start.
A potentially good ingredient in fnctional’s nootropic.
We say potentially as we don’t know the dosage to this ingredient and we’re only interested in a small component of it.
The part we’re interested in is the L-Theanine in Green Tea. It’s an amino acid which can help promote the relaxation hormones in your body such as dopamine, serotonin and GABA.
It can help you feel more relaxed and focused. However, we’re unsure there’s a big enough dosage here.
Green Coffee Bean
This isn’t a strong option in this nootropic, it’s actually more of a fat burner.
Green Coffee is the raw, caffeine-free form of coffee which is high in chlorogenic acid. This acid is effective for fat loss.
It works by reducing the glucose in your liver that your body uses for energy. Without the glucose your body has to burn fat to make up the difference.
Aside from those benefits, it won’t do much for your cognition.
This is a much better option in this supplement.
It’s a Scandinavian herb with evidence for promoting mood and motivation. Rhodiola can also help to reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety.
This can help you have a better sense of well-being and help you be more productive throughout the day.
Not a strong choice in fnctional’s Think(). Ginkgo Biloba is a nutrient which has claims to help promote cognition and focus.
However, studies have conflicting evidence. In some cases Ginkgo appears to help with cognition, whereas in others it appears to have no effect at all.
With such contrast between the effects, some researchers believe that the effects may be placebo. It’s not a strong choice here, or at least it appears that way until further evidence comes forward.
A much more impressive ingredient in this nootropic.
It works incredibly well for cognition. Studies show it has several benefits which can help your mental agility. PS can help mood, memory, focus and even help prevent cognitive decline.
It’s a great choice in this supplement.
This may not be a strong choice in fnctional Think(). GABA is a naturally occuring hormone in your body which can help keep your relaxed and reduce anxiety.
However, studies show it’s not too effective when supplemented orally. You’re better to use a precursor to it, or something that helps promote it in your body like L-Theanine.
White Tea Leaf
This is a better choice, and helps a lot with the problem we’ve just discussed with GABA.
White Tea contains a high amount of GABA. Supplementing it can help reduce anxiety and increase relaxation. This can help you be more focused throughout the day.
This is potentially a good option in Think(), however, as this is a proprietary blend the dosage could be an issue.
So, what does L-Carnitine do?
It’s a stimulant-free amino acid which studies show can help improve focus, energy and metabolism. This makes it incredibly useful for a nootropic.
The problem is that studies suggest you need between 500 – 2500mg per serving to get the best effects. With this being a proprietary blend, it’s hard to know how much of it you’re getting, and whether it is enough.
This however, is not an effective option in fnctional Think(). It might even cause problems.
DMAE is an ingredient that is usually used in beauty creams, but made its way over to nootropics. But now it was taken as a supplement rather than a topical cream.
It’s thought to help prevent cognitive decline, however there’s no human studies which show this.
Not only that, there are other studies which show that it may cause side effects. We’ll go into more detail about this in the side effects section later on.
Nutrient Profile Overview:
There are some great ingredients in this nootropic which can definitely help with cognition. The Choline, Green Tea’s L-Theanine, Rhodiola and Phosphatidylserine all work well in here.
However, we don’t like the proprietary blend in here. How can you know how effective a testosterone booster is, if you don’t know how much of each ingredient you’re getting?
It’s not a good recipe for results.
What would help improve Think()?
The first thing that would help, would be to remove the proprietary blend and state the doses of each ingredient. This would give much better transparency.
The next would be to remove the DMAE as that may cause side effects (that we’ll cover later).
It would also help if there are more study-backed ingredients in this nootropic. L-Theanine as it’s own ingredient, Bacopa, L-Tyrosine and Lion’s Mane extract.
Bacopa is one of our favorite nootropic ingredients. Studies show that supplementing Bacopa can help reduce your anxiety while improving memory formation. This makes it a great choice to use when you need to stay collected under pressure.
Whereas L-Tyrosine is anti-stress amino acid. It can help to reduce the levels of your the stress hormone cortisol. This can help reduce anxiety and allow you concentrate for longer throughout the day.
Finally, Lion’s Mane would be our final suggestion for fnctional Think(). Also known as Yamabushitake, Lion’s Mane can help improve cognition and reduce inflammation. It also been seen to help reduce anxiety, cognitive decline and depression when dosed effectively.
These would all be great choices in this supplement.
Safety Check: Are there any side effects in Think()?
Your main issue with this supplement is the DMAE. It has not been used as a supplement in human testing.
DMAE has been linked to causing birth defects when supplemented in rats. The issue is that it could transfer over to humans if you start supplementing it.
As a word of warning, we would suggest not to use DMAE if you are trying for a baby (if you’re a man or a woman) or currently pregnant.
If you have any concerns you should speak to your doctor before using it.

- Potential Side Effects – DMAE has links to causing problems.
- Some Ineffective Ingredients – Not all ingredients in here help to promote cognition.
As you can see, this isn’t the best supplement that we would suggest putting in your stack for nutrition.
