Cayenne Pepper is one of the most overlooked natural fat burners out there.

It’s a hot chilli used mainly to add flavor to spicy dishes – but the heat of this nutrient can improve much more than a dish, it’s great for your health.

This all comes down to the capsaicin in the chilli – which is where the heat comes from, which has been seen to promote:

  • Fat Loss
  • Appetite Suppression
  • Blood Glucose Regulation

It all sounds good, but what is Cayenne Pepper?

Also known as Guinea Spice, Cow-Horn Pepper, Red Hot Chili Pepper, Aleva, Bird Pepper and Red Pepper – this is a common household pepper that is related to Bell Peppers, Jalapenos Paprika and more.

It’s used mainly in cooking, and the fruit is usually dried, ground, pulped or put into powdered spice.

This is a fantastic nutrient for spicing up a dish, and great for promoting fat loss.

Here’s everything you need to know about this herb, and why it’s great for keeping you in shape.

Cayenne Pepper for Fat Loss

The Capsaicin in Cayenne Pepper is great for keeping your fat levels down.

After being absorbed by your body, the chilli acts on your adrenaline receptors to increase your body heat quickly.

Why is this important?

Because it initiate thermogenesis. Thermongenesis is a process in your body where your body’s core temperature is increased. To counter the change, your body responds by regulating itself to cool down.

This process, although automatic, uses more energy than usual, and in doing so helps you to burn extra calories and stored fat.

This has been examined in several studies. [1] It’s a great addition to any diet if the aim is to burn more fat.

Cayenne Pepper as an Appetite Suppressant

As well as helping you to burn more fat, Cayenne Pepper can also help you from taking in as much food.

In a study that compared the appetite suppressing effects of Capsaicin (Cayenne), Green Tea and Sweet Pepper, results showed that taking these supplements helped reduce overall appetite. [2]

This makes it an excellent choice for anyone who wants to burn additional fat – while still training true, (or even improving) their diet.

Cayenne Pepper Regulates Blood Glucose

Another benefit from Cayenne Pepper is it’s ability to influence blood glucose levels.

Many reports have shown that supplementing Cayenne Pepper can lead to a reduction in Blood Glucose.

This is good news. By reducing your body’s overall levels of blood sugar – your body has less of a need to produce insulin.

Insulin is your body’s natural blood sugar regulator. It’s an effective hormone, however, when your insulin levels of high, you can gain fat a lot more easily.

By reducing your body’s need for insulin, your body produces less – and it’s easier for you to keep on top of your weight loss goals.

In a study that involved 12 subjects supplementing 5g of capsaicin, glucose was significantly lowered due to the chilli stimulating the pancreas – which released insulin. [3]

The end result was a reset in blood glucose levels. Which reduced the subjects need for insulin for a long time afterwards. In the long term, it’s an effective strategy.

Other Benefits of Cayenne Pepper

But it doesn’t stop there. Due to it’s ability to increase overall blood flow, and the range of nutrients it contains, Cayenne Pepper has a range of benefits.

Let’s start with the nutrients. Cayenne Pepper is packed with Vitamin A, E, C, B6, K, along with Manganese and Potassium.

It has been seen to help promote:

  • Digestion – Cayenne increases the flow of enzyme production in your body which is the foundation of your digestive system.
  • Blood Clot Prevention – Cayenne Pepper helps to dilate blood vessels which can help flush out blood clots.
  • Reducing Joint Pain – When applied to the skin, Cayenne helps reduce the amount of substance P in your body, which is the chemical which carries the pain signals to your brain. Allowing you to be more pain-free.

It’s also been seen to help:

  • Fight Headaches
  • Detox
  • Treat Psoriasis
  • Flu
  • Allergies
  • Anti-Fungal

There’s so many benefits to be had with this fruit.

Cayenne Pepper as a Fat Burner: Summary

As you can see, this is one of the better natural nutrients on the market when it comes to burning fat along with several other benefits.

The heating element of the Capsaicin in the Cayenne Pepper allows it to help you burn more fat than you would do normally.

Not only that, it has been seen in several studies to help improve appetite suppression and of course help in many other ways.

If you’re not a fan of spicy food – or don’t use a lot of chilli in your diet – we strongly recommend you reconsider your decision.

It can make a lot of difference to both your dishes and your waistline.
