There are some great ingredients in this supplement. It’s great for protecting your eyes from blue light.
However, we think a bit more could be added. There are few more study backed ingredients that we think could help improve this supplement.

This is a great first ingredient in Ahana Nutrition Lutein Blue.
Bilberry is fantastic for vision and eye health. So, how does it help you?
The main Bilberry helps is because it contains a nice amount of C3G. C3G is Cynanidin-3-Glucoside which is a an effective antioxidant.
It helps to promote your overall levels of Rhodopsin, which is a resource that your body uses to help you see in the dark.
Not only that, Bilberry can also help improve blood flow to your eyes which can help with their overall performance throughout the day.
Also known as Euphrasia. This is a nutrient in Ahana Nutrition Lutein Blue which is called Eyebright due to the claims that it may help with eyesight.
However, how accurate is that claim?
It’s an interesting question, mainly because all the claims for it working are anecdotal. There’s no current clinical study out there to show that Euphrasia actually works.
More research is needed, but we can’t say for sure if it works at the moment.
There are two things in Ahana Nutrition Lutein Blue which helps a lot with eye health.
Those are Vitamin A (Beta Carotene) and Cynaidin-3-Glucoside (C3G).
As you already know, C3G is great for improving your overall levels of Rhodopsin, which helps to improve your overall night vision. You can see more effectively in the dark.
Vitamin A also helps, but it’s typically more for maintenance. It helps with the modulation of various functions in your body such as your skin, immune system, mucus and of course your vision.
It’s a good addition to this supplement.
Fo-Ti (Polygonum Multiflorum) (Resveratrol)
This is another nutrient in Ahana Nutrition Lutein Blue, also known as Polygonum Multiflorum. The main benefit of this is that it contains Resveratrol.
So, what does Resveratrol do?
It doesn’t directly help eye health, but it can help in other ways. Resveratrol boosts blood flow, this can help improve blood flow to your eyes which helps with performance.
It’s a nice support in this supplement.
This is a great ingredient in Ahana Nutrition Lutein Blue.
It’s a great antioxidant for vision, but what does Lutein actually do?
They way it works is by how it helps to support your macula.
Your macula is in the center of your eye and is responsible for controlling your central vision. It’s essential for seeing directly in front of you. Without it working effectively, you wouldn’t be able to drive, read or do anything that requires direct vision.
Lutein helps to support your Macula against blue light. Blue light is bright light that comes off the sun, computer screens and artificial lights – which can be damaging to your eyes.
This can help defend your eyes from glare from bright lights, and even help improve recovery time from glare.
Not only that, it can also help improve your overall clarity of your vision. It’s a great addition to this supplement.

On the whole, Ahana Nutrition Lutein Blue has some great ingredients.
However, we think a few more things could be added to help improve this supplement.
What would help Ahana Nutrition Lutein Blue?
We think Zeaxanthin, Black Currant and Saffron would help a lot of this supplement.
For example, Zeaxanthin has been seen in numerous studies to work well with Lutein for strengthening your macula and protecting you against blue light. It can also help with vision clarity, and also helps fighting and recovering from glare.
Whereas Black Currant can help support the Carrot and Bilberry in here. Black Currant contains a high level of C3G (Cyanidin-3-Glucoside), which we’ve already mentioned helps improve rhodopsin.
Improving Rhodopsin can help improve your night vision which can help you see in the dark.
Whereas Saffron contains Safranal which can help improve your motion detection and reduces glare from bright lights. It’s very effective.
We would’ve liked to see more ingredients like this in this supplement.
Ahana Nutrition Lutein Blue Side Effects – Are there any?
Not that we can see, all the ingredients in here appear to be safe at these dosages.
You shouldn’t run into any side effects from supplementing this product.
That said, we can’t speak for everyone. If you have concerns, you should speak to your doctor before using it.

- Zeaxanthin would help – Studies show Zeaxanthin and Lutein work together incredibly well.
